Most cooling failures are a part, not a system
Capacitors, contactors, fan motors, boards, and refrigerant leaks cover most of the cooling calls we run. We find the actual fault, show you the readings, and you approve the price in writing before the repair starts.

What people say when they call
Each one narrows the diagnosis before anyone opens a panel.
Runs, but the air is warm
Usually refrigerant charge, a dirty coil, or a compressor that is not actually starting. Gauges answer it in minutes, and you see the numbers.
On, off, on again
Starting and quitting every few minutes points at a pressure switch, a failing capacitor, or a unit that was oversized from day one.
Ice on the lines
Ice means low airflow or low charge, and running it makes it worse. Shut the system off and call, because it has to thaw before anyone can test it.
No, R-410A is not banned
A working R-410A system is legal to keep and legal to service, indefinitely. The refrigerant itself costs about triple what it did two years ago, so leak repairs cost real money. But anyone telling you the system is illegal is selling a replacement.
Grinding, buzzing, clicking
Bearings, a seizing motor, or a chattering contactor. Cheap to fix early and expensive to ignore, so this is the call to make the same week.
It trips the breaker
A shorted compressor or a failing motor pulling too many amps. Stop resetting it. Every restart risks taking the compressor with it.
You decide with the numbers in hand
Every repair call runs the same way, and the price is fixed before work starts.
Questions we get on repair calls
You hear back the same day, and emergency calls go to the front. If it is dangerous (a burning smell, a breaker that will not hold), say so on the phone and we treat it that way.
Wholesale R-410A runs twelve to eighteen dollars a pound in 2026, up from six to ten two years ago. A top-off also means there is a leak, because refrigerant does not get used up. We quote the leak search along with the pounds so the same call does not repeat next summer.
Yes, we work on all brands. If a board has to come from the manufacturer, you get the lead time before you commit to it.
You can, and on an old unit that is sometimes the right economics. The risks are a compressor failure that takes the whole system with it in August, and repair pricing at its seasonal worst. If it is on its last season, we would rather tell you now than at midnight in a heat wave.

Start with the symptom
One sentence about what it is doing gets the diagnosis moving. Same-day reply, and the price is in writing before the repair starts.
